Dead As A Doornail is the fifth book in the Sookie Stackhouse series. If you’re interested, you can read the reviews for the previous books in the series at the end of the article!
Sookie is 26, still a waitress at Merlotte’s, and recently single. She’s been dealing more and more with weres (now including her own brother, Jason). But on top of this, she now has to deal with a were killer, and she now only has until the next full moon to find the culprit.
And this killer is not the only thing threatening Bon Temps because a sniper has decided to subject the town to their reign of terror. Killing all non-human that they can find. When Alcide calls her for help, Sookie finds herself, once again in the middle of supernatural political intrigue with werewolves, vampires, and other supernatural beings.
Dead As A Doornail is one of my favorite books in the Sookie Stackhouse series. Because once again, we learn more and more about the politics of supernatural beings. Like with former books in the series, this one expands the universe, and it’s an aspect of the series that I love. The fact that Charlain Harris, the author, finds new ways to expand her universe in a simple yet fascinating way.
