Jumper

Jumper

To continue with my series of, what did I watch while on lockdown, I present to you, Jumper. It’s’s, not the first time I watched the movie. I already watched it when it came out in 2008.

But, since I like Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen, I decided to rewatch it. Plus, it’s been more than ten years. I had forgotten almost everything about this movie.

Synopsis

Ever since he found out he could teleport anywhere on earth, David Rice has been living like a king. With his power, he can have lunch in Egypt, on top of the Sphinx, spend his afternoon surfing in Australia, dine in Paris, and have desserts in Japan.

Walls can’t stop him, and no bank vault resists him. Free like the wind, David lives the lush life. That is until the day he finds himself in the middle of an ancient war between those like him who can jump, and the ones bend on destroying them.

Review

Jumper is a movie of 2008. In the themes, the music, the clothes, everything. I almost felt like I was 13 again, except that I had my iPhone in my hand, checking my Instagram at the beginning of the movie.

The premise of the movie is exciting to me. Who never wanted to be able to teleport? Be able to do whatever you wanted with nobody ever bothering you. I got to say that I dream about it at least four times a day when I’m commuting to and from work.

But, I’m getting off-topic now… Jumper is the story of David, a guy who can teleport anywhere in the world in the blink of an eye and what happens when he’s’s finally caught after leading a carefree life.

I won’t spoil the movie, but I got to say that one of the things I liked most about Jumper was the love story between David and Millie. (Sue me, I’m a huge sucker for romance…)

But what really loved in this movie was Samuel L. Jackson’s character. He plays the bad guy in the film, but when it’s Samuel L. Jackson playing him, you can’t help but like his character… For me, he made the movie.

Should you watch it?

So, after all, this rambling, I still haven’t given you my answer, should you watch this movie or not?

Even though it’s’s kind of a silly movie, I would say yes, absolutely watch it. Because first there is a lot of great actors in this movie. But mostly because it’s’s about an enjoyable concept that hasn’t been done many times. And it’s’s just delightful to watch.

So if you’re looking for something fun and an easy-going movie, just watch Jumper!

Side note: I have to stop starting all of my reviews with ok
