Perfect by Sara Shepard

Perfect by Sara Shepard

Perfect is the third book in the Pretty Little Liars series. It’s the book series that the TV Show is based on. And I started reading Pretty Little Liars when I was 16, nine years ago. It’s a really entertaining book series and much more logical than the TV Show. If you want to take a look at the other books in the series, you have the links at the end of the article.

Before you enbark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves.

Summary

In Rosewood, Pennsylvania, four girls are pretending to be perfect. But they are far from it…

Aria can’t seem to be able to stop seeing her ex. Hanna is losing her best friend. Emily is freaking out over a kiss. And Spencer is so jealous of her big sister. She seems to want to take everything that’s hers.

Even though all of this is horrible for them, it’s great for A, who seems to know the four pretty little liars better than they know themselves.

Review

As I said before, I started reading the book series because I just got into the TV Show, which began when I was 15. (Fun fact, it literally premiered the day of my 15th birthday). So I read it when I was the same age as the girls. And it was really perfect (see what I did there :p).

So, more seriously, and to the point. The Pretty Little Liars series is one of the few book series that I’ve read where the books are getting better with each new release. The mysteries are getting resolved quite fast, the author doesn’t make you wait, unlike in the TV Show.

The only thing I really have against Perfect and the entire Pretty Little Liars series is the name dropping all of the time. Like I get it, they have Gucci or Prada bag, but I don’t care, that’s not why I’m reading the series. With time I learned to ignore it, but at first, I really couldn’t stand it.

Should you read it?

You should absolutely read it. It’s a super fun and easy read, and you can read it in just a few hours! I would recommend it mostly for teenagers and young adults, but anyone can read it. You just have to be aware of the fact that it’s from the point of view of teenage girls, and that can be quite annoying for some people…

If you want a fun and accessible book/book series to read for this summer, Perfect and Pretty Little Liars is going to be great for you!
